Results are not final, but this is not turning around from here. Record high voting with 77%+ attendance. I think this is higher, than ever before.

We will see what this brings exactly.

One of you fine gentlemen recently posted about rewatching Sopranos and Deadwood over and over, and as someone who for reasons I cannot recall missed out on both of these shows thought that that is a pretty good recommendation to at least check them out. I recall also seeing recommendations for the likes of The Wire and Entourage, which are again shows that I have never checked out for some reason.

Aside from hopefully getting some good content to watch there might be others in the same shoes, so here is your chance to spread the love. If you include a sentence or two about why you recommend a certain show that is very much appreciated.

Maybe some of you actually know of good titles in this type. Girl in question is 12, but is more into stuff for somewhat older girls, so I would not recommend her very safe, kid stuff, as that will not interest her. Also, no faggotry please, the world is pushing that shit on all of us all the time, so it's best to not open another venue for it. Needs to be available in English, and the more obscure stuff I might not be able to get for her, I assume it is at least somewhat limited what books I can get here.

She is also into horror movies, if that helps.

Thank you to any of you fine gentlemen for any recommendations.

Also, what is with judges blocking shit, other judges unblocking it, how does that work? No need for a detailed wall of text, just some short explanation will do.

As an europoor I have limited insight into how good the announced people are, so I would appreciate some opinions. I know Gaetz, he seems like a good pick for just about anything. Tom Homan sounds based, so that also looks good. What do you guys think about the picks so far?

I have two young girls in my extended family, ages 8 and 10. I have been gifting / recommending them movies, TV shows, and so on that is as free of current year as possible. The older one has shown interest in reading manga, which I know nothing about, so I am turning to you fine gentlemen in hopes of getting some quality reading for her.

Some points to consider is that it should be something that is translated to local, which is probably the more popular stuff. She has also shown interest in horror movies and such, so some scary / spooky / supernatural elements I guess are fine. Bonus points for having good father figures, I found that to have a good effect on girls.

Not sure if anything else is of import, so, if you have any recommendations, fire away!

Thanks!

I have just started Nightmare of Decay, a retro looking FPS with scarce resources. As someone who had quite a bit of fun with old school shooters, this promises to be quite a lot of fun. Just before that I have played Forgive Me Father, another old school shooter with an interesting aesthetic, this time of the Lovecraftian flavour. Not sure what I will play next, but probably something other, than shooter.

Looks like something that might actually be worthwhile to watch.

Maybe I am just out of the loop, or fail to connect the dots. What's with a whole bunch of gaming companies laying off people or canceling projects? Is it simply the bad economy all over the world? Because that has been going on for a while, so why so many companies doing this just now, and all at once? A lot of games have been shit too for a while, so it's probably not that either. Do they have to publish quarterly reports in the upcoming days, and are trying to get ahead of the bad news by pretending that they have already done something about the issue?

The main protagonist's gay brother gets a pride Christmas ornament from his mom, and then the married lesbian couple shows up, one of whom is the main protagonist's aunt.

I am not the target audience of this movie.

A couple of days ago I have posted about how this show is not worth your time, based on two of three total episodes.

Maybe the first two were written by a woman and the last by a man, but instead of a lot of boring talk by a lot of boring characters you get a lot of action in ep3. While it is still TV-show quality, some of it is pretty good.

If we got just ten minutes of what is most of ep3 in the previous two, with less talk and less angry ugly strong women the show could have been quite good.

Two episodes in of what will be three total. 130+ mins of stuff.

There is a grand total of one action sequence, early in episode one, that could be in a John Wick movie. But even that would probably be one of the worst in all of the action sequences of the franchise.

Mel Gibson is the main villain, but it is nothing to write home about.

The guy they got to play young Winston was a good pick. Some of his backstory with his brother is decent.

And that is pretty much it. You get to see a pair of tits, but even that is nothing memorable.

In return for this very short list of kind of positives you get to have a lot of angry and ugly women beating or overpowering men, sometimes several. There aren't really much in terms of badass men after the first episode either. In a John Wick spinoff...

It feels like they are trying to make Charon gay, but did not really commit to it. The guy playing him also doesn't at all feel like he could grow older to become Lance Reddick (RIP). There is a lot of talk, but it does not feel like they have really expanded the lore in any meaningful way. A lot of characters talk a lot, and you will care about very little of those characters and all the talking going on.

There is a drag queen in the first episode, played by an IRL drag queen, but I only noticed this in the credits.

There is probably more to mention, but I cannot be bothered any more.

It's not worth your time. You are better off rewatching any of the movies, even the one you like the least.

I will finally get a new PC after quite a few years, and am wondering about the title question. Not planning on using Win 11 any time soon, which I believe requires it. I will probably still use the same high seas win 10 for the foreseeable future.

I have heard quite a few people suggesting to check if TPM is enabled in the BIOS, and to disable it if it is because of privacy concerns.

Thoughts?
