This is the new reality I guess. My wife is extremely scared despite trying to tell her that we are young and in no risk group. Even if we were to get it we have like 99,995 chance of being fine or something retarded like that.
My sister in law got covid and she thought she was dying, life flashing before her eyes stuff. She was asymptomatic.
I'm starting to think women are predispose to the fear-pandemic.
Now that my country is getting a second wave, I realized something recently: Thank fucking God my mom passed away last year before this all started. The coverage is absolutely wall to wall, 24/7 - I just checked the biggest local news site and they have FOURTEEN articles about Chinese Lung AIDS on the frontpage at the moment.
She wasn't in very good health in the years before she passed, she was obese for most of her life, and a few years ago she had a minor stroke that she mostly recovered from, but she wasn't always all there. She was afraid all the time of the tiniest things. She also always watched a lot of news, and her deteriorating mobility meant she spent a lot of time in front of the TV - I tried to take her outside as much as I could, but I was her only close family and there's only so much I could do with a day job.
This shit would drive her insane, guaranteed. I can only wonder in horror how many old people are in a similar situation, glued to the TV, hearing all day every day for half a goddamn year about the ongoing apocalypse with a 1% IFR.
I miss her of course, but she was going to be gone one day anyway, and I'm glad she didn't have to live her last days in this media hell. This is unprecedented psychological abuse, a war against reason.
My grandmother is in a similar boat as your mom would be in: obese, in her 90s, effectively zero mobility, and constantly afraid of becoming ill from something. The nursing home she's in doesn't allow visitors, and no doubt her health has deteriorated more from that than whatever risk she has of getting sick.
Someone wrote that this is the greatest crime against humanity this side of genocide or war crimes, and I agree. It's criminal what these people are doing, and it's made even worse that they'll never face justice for their crimes.
I'm starting to think women are predispose to the fear-pandemic.
Women are predisposed to every fear on the planet. And to every non-fear.
If you want to change something, persuade women that it's bad for them. I'm willing to bet that you could abolish the female vote just by pretending (it's up for debate if it is pretending or true, though) that they lose out, because of it.
We are talking about the safest and most privileged demographic that has ever lived on this little space rock. And they are still demandig more protections. Not because they are threatened. But because they FEEL threatened.

They knew in the fucking VICTORIAN times that women were uniquely predisposed to mass hysteria. There is shit tons of original documentation on it.
The word hysteria is derived from the Greek term for the womb. For good reason.

repeal the 19th (really every amendment after the 11th but that one in particular)

It's a well established fact that women are more neurotic than men.
