As another alumni of PBAU I'm going to have to say there is nothing sacred about that chapel or the school in general. Shoot, the chapel was specifically funded b/c the previous location was too small and students (for whom attendance a certain number of times a semester is mandatory) could not fit into the room. The new building cost millions, was built as a vanity project and could seat about 70% of the number of people as the previous location.
