This is one of the most tiresome tactics in the leftist arsenal.

To be fair, their entire ideology's refrain is one of "Reality consistenly fails to live up to my ideology, so I'm going going to fabricate the conditions for:

My own ideology to be necessary
My own ideology to actually work"
