The people cheering this on should remember that this show takes place in a world of DEMONS, that all the people Luz is dealing with are DEMONS, she is being influenced by DEMONS, this word is explicitly used in the show itself.

I mean, I can just hear the ghost of Jerry Falwell screaming "DEMON WORSHIP. I TOLD YOU SO", and I honestly can't argue with it at this point.
