Remember all those people on Tumblr who claimed that every character is transgender, and everyone laughed at them?
That’s this person. And also their peers that are creating these shows. And kids growing up on the politically-motivated media these people create.
These people may be jokes, but their danger is very serious.
Yep. They also include themselves in the fanfiction stories as Mary Sues.
Mary-Sues and self-inserts in fanfic have been a thing forever, this whole crop of "I need characters that look like ME otherwise I can't enjoy this" strikes me as something a bit different than just reading too much fanfic, I think narcissism (They're the center of the universe in their eyes, of course every show should cater to them) more than anything.
