It's about making people think they're isolated in their opinions. Very effective actually.
In a way I suppose. However I'm often surprised by how little my normie coworkers pay attention to the news, much less the culture war. I can't imagine they are swayed by the shenanigans of faggy communist LARPers online.
That being said, while they knew about the George Floyd incident they didn't know that he was high on fentanyl and meth or that he had served 5 years for assaulting and robbing a pregnant woman

It's effective unless they reach critical mass, then it has the opposite effect as hammering people when they know there is support makes their beliefs even stronger.
