They weren't even the first, they conquered who was there before. There is evidence of human presence in North America 130,000 years ago.
It only makes sense that there were humans here before the last Ice Age. Even if they came during the Ice Age from Europe they'd have been here long before the alleged Land Bridge people(s).
Not many of them, and they rarely made anything from stone, but there's plenty of evidence.
