The issue, is that muslim would say the same of Mohammad. And both need to resolve the issue of the Before Times. Are 4000 years of people just hellbound because it took God 4000 years (or 4500 years for Mo) to send down a savior? Some say there's some after-the-fact absolution going on, but that implies that, down the road, ANOTHER absolver could appear and post-hoc save those in the poor timing windows.

It's a bad system. Whether true or not. The random African looks at the Mormon OR Muslim missionary, who arrives a week after their parents die. Oh, the parents missed the window, they're in hell, if only they lived for 8 more days, they could have gone to heaven, too bad. Missed it by thaaaat much, eternity of torture, lol. It's simply a bad system.

And God wouldn't make such an obviously a bad system. Which means our interpretation of it, our mortal view, must be flawed in some way: Perhaps nonbelievers aren't "saved", they're meritorious in their own right. The teachings and scriptures help one become more meritorious, but they, in themselves, cannot be the keys to the kingdom. One of an infinite number of possibilities.

Because God isn't some FOMO cell phone gacha game. There is no "ah, missed it by thaaat much, should have logged in one day sooner, or did one more pull". God is Eternal, the concept of FOMO is irrelevant to Him, and should be as well to His flock. Likely. Infinite possibilities, but that isn't one of them.

But we can judge (and feel free to judge me in turn, 'lest ye be judged' only matters if there's fault in the judgement) that the religion that says "enslave, torture, and kill those who don't believe in the exact specific minutae of our Abrahamic Lord" are probably further from the truth, than those who say "an all-loving God would still love an atheist, as we are ALL God's children, not just some of us... Just some of us are a bit estranged".
