Definitely a plus for yourself. It's so almost never I've thought how much I'm missing out on things. It's more of an appreciation I'm being excluded from garbage consumption by default.
It can only benefit you to pirate media instead of subscribing to 10 grillion services. You can watch in the highest quality possible and without ads. Plus you don't shill out hundreds of dollars every year with the hope they won't get rid of all of the good shows or raise the price by another $5 a month. Piracy is the only way besides physical media to actually own anything anymore in the realm of entertainment. Everyone just wants to sell a license to access content.
