Websites like Mastodon, diaspora or Lemmy are all extremely leftist. Same with group chats like Element. Yet these websites and apps were all created with anonymity and security in mind. Is it all a front for pedophilia? Somehow, I doubt it.
I actually think leftists are so delusional they think promoting woke values is somehow something they need to take precautions over despite the only people getting arrested by governments are right-wingers.
That is ofc unless the leftists are plotting assassinations of presidents like Trump or school shootings...
Kinda crazy. I also find it crazy that right-wingers take virtually no precautions online.
I don't think that's true. The internet has become ubiquitous, you'd be hard pressed to function within society without any access to it.
I think he just means they aren't posting about right wing issues or discussing right wing stuff online. They're still using the internet just not for online discussions.
It's probably not far off the truth.
I don't post on X or like anything anymore. I found when I was I got banned. Scored is the last place I bother to post replies to. Anyone else where I can freely type would have me banned nearly instantly. I stopped making new Reddit accounts and just used a banned account to browse.
Actual right wingers have a hard time participating online except lurking so they probably don't actively even bother to try anymore.
Yeah, I think it's less dropping out and more what you and u/undecidedmask2 outline. Platforms just won't allow right wing thought to be posted on them. It's people getting driven off rather than simply going offline for opsec. Not quite the same thing.
