That's true, but the disk/license was transferable. Once the disk goes, so does the ability to transfer licenses.
Yeah, I guess I sort of forgot in that I haven't bought anything new in so long that I forget. I might buy a disc "license" for $10 now if I still wanted it, but after a while it seems like none of them outside Nintendo hold any value at all.
