I mean, just look at him
I don't think I ever met him because I think I would remember seeing that in person, even though I was in a lot of programming and computer social groups at the time. Even played Capture the Flag with Stuff a few times with the CMU group named... KGB. Yes, their "nerd" group is called KGB.
