It's not really a soulslike, people just don't seem to want to play other games especially retarded zoomers, it plays more like Nier Automata and Bayonetta had a baby especially with the perfect dodges you'd find in a Platinum game. It's more like a Platinum love letter than the Souls games people love to compare it too.
Sounds good to me. Nier Automata is a top 5 game for me, not necessarily all from gameplay but atmosphere and weirdness, but the gameplay is fun too. I just don't have the desire for slow dodge, dodge, parry on this this going well, oh shit "you died".
That's good because Nier Automata was the main inspiration. There is a decent focus on parries and the gameplay is slower than you'd expect but it's mainly a hack n slash with some RPG mechanics tacked on, the parries are more like Metal Gear Rising in that it's used to build up your beta gauge. Typing this out now actually, it's clearly very inspired by Nier and Bayonetta but it's a mismash of many hack n slash mechanics mainly Platinum games specifically Nier (like Crimson Desert with action RPGS) that somehow manages to have soul despite not really having much an identity of it's own Sorry I'm all over the place with this but it's been awhile since I beat it and I had to fully jog my memory.
Thanks though. I've been very in the mood for that type game lately, so I'll pick it up this summer. I was about to replay something soon if I didn't get there. It's hard to get a read on those type games anymore.
No problem, yeah it is. It's not helped by the waters constantly being muddied by everything being compared to soulsborne. Kinda old having to sort through games and see people compare an open world action RPG to Elden Ring or a slow hack n slash to Dark Souls.
