The left views violence as a dial that they can turn up or down. They always are violent, but they use the dial to change the magnitude.
The right views violence as a switch. It’s off most of the time, but when it’s switched on once every hundred years or so, they do massive shit and the left cries about it for the rest of time (eg 1930s Germany).
