What freedom of religion? Talos worship is banned. There are only 8 altars in the Temple of the Nine. They have secret police that will lock stormcloaks (and their sympathizers) up and torture them to death if they are accused of it. There is an entire quest concerning this, "Missing in Action."
Altmer are israelis, khajeets are pajeets, imperials are americans and Dovahkin shouts slurs at the enemies.
