He boasted to me that one of the students did some "great work” at FANG companies. Later he reveals it's a foid who promoted whamen in tech. So basically did nothing and is now in a hall of fame for it.
Another one of the students started a company and was actually successful, but he moved out of the country and is living abroad. No recognition.
The American game industry is doing poorly as we are aware. The average students are not finding jobs as quickly as hoped after graduation.
Boomer Manager admitted he only had 3 jobs in his life one of them being at a major game company and gleefully remarked he knows nothing about how HR would write a rejection letter to me since “he has never seen a rejection letter before” as in he has never been rejected from a job.
This here reveals why the tradcon boomer management at corpos has no issue with HR. Because HR takes work load away from them and they don't give a shit about anything else.

Most boomers don't know a thing about video games. If any of them know, it's to dismiss and find out how much they can profit out of it. It explains why the western game industries are doing really bad now. Boomers cannot understand the talent if they saw one, even if they hired him, they are going to let HR handle him. You thought sony was the stupid one to hire Jim Ryan as the head? It dawned on me there are a lot of Jim Ryan's within the game company. They have no knowledge of the industry they are working in, yet they got the position due to the less competitions and lack of gatekeepers.
He doesn't and me it quite clear when I brought up examples. But yet somehow he is the boss of the studio and I get the luxury if cleaning tables in one.
He also personally knew a very well known exec in the industry that has been in the news for the wrong reasons many times. But he knows nothing about games.
