Lying under oath is much worse than admitting you said a no-no word.
Three magic words, "I don't recall."
That's admitting you use the word a LOT if you can't recall if you said it in that instance and makes you seem dishonest which would have the jury not trust your testimony.
Then just "I have nothing to say."
That's not a great line, especially during a high profile murder trial.
