To be fair, the sprite work here is really good.
If the person who made it wasn't lazy they could make a sprite sheet for animation cells using a generic stick figure for the animations, and then have the AI fill in the cells of the stick figure with the proper fully coloured sprites we see in the video clip.
Designing a 2D action game around that concept could be fairly decent.
If I were younger and not lazy, I likely would have done it myself. There is a part of me that is kind of itching to get back into design, but then I banish the thought.
