The various, and changing, branches of ecofeminisms have shown that men (if a binary categorisation is used), and specific masculinities have solidified, sustained and benefited most from fossil-fuelled heteropatriarchy through strategies such as objectification of nature, gender hierarchisation, separation of body and mind, and segregation of differently marked bodies (e.g. Plumwood, Citation1993).
