I can't tell if NYP author is subtly taking the piss out of the 'researchers' or is just too deep in to realise how dumb it all sounds..
I mean if we want the biggest environmental impacts, there is only ONE factor that eclipses men, women or even the industrial revolution.
Communism. The Aral Sea, Kyshtym, Chernobyl, the full impact of the three gorges dam and China in general. They have caused such damage to the environment that it will take centuries to reverse.
Then just look at socialism in general especially under the 'green' banner from wind turbines that can't be recycled and damage both bird and ocean life. Solar panels that are wasted being placed on land than rooftops to refusing nuclear power leading to Germany ripping up their country side for coal. THAT'S the biggest factor not 'Men vs Women, who's worse?'
