I went in expecting Iced Earth because of John Schaffer being at January 6th but this was a very different subgenre of metal than what I listen to.
Wow. So he was on the FBI's Most Wanted List for peacefully touring the Capitol and was later arrested by the FBI.
Well I like them even more now.
I'm pretty sure It's just John Schaffer who's cool like that and that the rest of the band pretty much disowned him over it. Then again, Iced Earth is and always has been John Schaffer's creation, so it's kind of a wash.
I own a few of these.
Antifa is the lowest rung of humanity and few things make them seethe harder than real metal, hence their many attempts to infiltrate and claim it by way of adjacent genre crossover. Reminder that before they became useful globohomo soldiers in the trump era and got their USAID cash injections, antifa were mostly meddlers who attempted to get music gigs cancelled for European bands whom they deemed to be insufficiently communist. It's what they default to whenever they have nothing better to do (or be paid to do). Here is a deleted antifa blog boasting about attempts to screw with a Marduk gig in Texas in 2017. Marduk is completely middle of the road and isn't even in the video guy's list.
Most of the complaints listed in the vid are old, old cancel attempts. One example, the Leviathan/Sapthuran split: the guy behind Leviathan faced domestic battery charges because he threw some tattoo ink implements at the BPD bitch he was dating at the time. This transformed online into 'HE RAPED A WOMAN WITH A TATTOO GUN' and lefty feminist retards spammed all Leviathan pages with bullshit like that for years.
He's wrong about that split album btw, it has one of the very best Leviathan tracks - arguably one of the best BM tracks ever - on it.
Maybe I'm showing I'm not all that tuned into the metal scene, but I'm shocked there's even one metal band out there that isn't stocked full of raging leftists, let alone multiple. Although, I'm not too surprised an overwhelming, basically unanimous, majority of these bands are from WELL before the 2010's.
Metal is not lefty. But INTERNET metal and its faggot communities very much are. The longer that metal subsists as an internet-only phenomenon, the more faggotrated it will get.
Example: Nuclear War Now is a decent label reissuing mostly quite based bands. Extreme metal, we're not talking Pantera here (ironically Phil Anselmo might be very based but w/e). NWN had some of the best forums for metal discussion on the net. They shut them ALL down when a guitarist from a black thrash band trooned out and started getting mocked. The single point of failure was the US based Jap owner deciding he didn't want to deal with internet drama. As a result, just a bit more real metal seemed to disappear from the internet and metal overall seemed to become more trans friendly. But it's just a faggot net illusion which commies are droolingly eager to capitalise on. Multiply this effect and you have what you have now.
