Ok, are they still physically weaker than almost every single adult man? Because the two ways this would go are: whatever trash the film turns out to be, or a gorilla deciding to go ham on the nearest ranger that keeps an eye on the local population.
Women in the modern world are kept safe because of men keeping other men away. Take away the latter and the former still remains a threat.
