I've never played this game and never will, but it's worth pointing out the rarity of a live service title ending with offline compatibility.

Gacha is never going away but if developers were savvy, they'd commit to this up-front and it'd probably reduce psychological barriers towards whaling.

(It's not like mods don't exist for such popular games while they are active, so any IP theft factor isn't relevant anyway.)
