“The stay contemplated here would be in effect for approximately one month while this court reviews and considers the voluminous materials provided, the oral submissions heard over two days and makes a final determination,” Leonard said. “The issues raised by the (nations) are serious ones, and, as I have found, the (nations) have established irreparable harm.”

How Albertan!
Justice Leonard is married and she and her wife have two children. In her spare time, she enjoys running (slowly) and playing the baroque cello and viola de gamba.
Let's consider the issue of abortion.
Let's assume eveyrone in Commiefornia is pro-abortion. It's not the case, but let's assume so.
Let's assume everyone in Texas is t he opposite, anti-abortion (anti-murder).
Then every court in Commiefornia will rule pro-abortion. Every court in Texas against it.
Now come to the Supreme Court. Let's assume 100% of judges of the Supreme Court are taken from ONLY commiefornia and texas.
Then if there are more judges from Commieland, the supreme courtt will rule pro-abortion. If there are more judges from Texas, against.
What's the point?
Exactly. There is no point. Having judges decide law is just reinforcing whatever those who picked the judges want. If the law is clear then we don't need judges and if the law isn't clear then why have judges decide instead of the people? And if people in Quebec can decide for people in Alberta then Alberta ought to have its independence and Alberta should not listen to a single thing anyone outside of Alberta thinks on their own sovereignty.
Fully agree with you.
