If a black woman gets a high school level education, and realizes that being named "L-qoa" (Ladashqua) is retarded, I'm magnanimous enough to say "yeah, you can change your given name". Her life prospects would be significantly worse with that name than without it, if her name were literally "Name Not Listed" she would have a better time, so I'd say that's a good reason to change a name: Significant hardship imposed upon you by someone else that passes a Reasonable Person test.
I disagree. Your name is your identity and it should not be changed, changing it hides who that person is. If someone's parents gave them a stupid name, than they should honor their parents and live with that stupid name. If they have a stupid name because their parents are stupid, than they are probably stupid as well and the name fits.
I also don't think trannys should be able to change their names, even if they try to feminize thier current name (ex. Jack -> Jackie) because it dishonor's their family and intentionally hides their reputation and identity.
If you got an esoteric name, than your parents may've wished you to be a spiritual person. If you got an artistic name, than your patents may've wished you to be an artist. It doesn't matter, there is no real reason why anyone should be able to hide their names or change it officially. Nick-names are fine enough.
If you can think of a good reason why someone should be able to change their name, let me know.
