His premise and his point don't work.
The official one is from Dublin Ireland, and is televised.
Many cities have one, but it's not the official one.

Lots of cities have a thanksgiving day parade, and include a Santa Clause float, but there's only one Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. And just like before, it's televised.
Didn't see any St Patrick's day parades in India.
