I give the credit to the West for adopting Christianity

a) Those who adopt give credit/creed to those giving up for adoption.

b) To adopt (taking for self) tempts one to ignore to adapt (react to change). Few suggest many to adopt by creed/credit to distract from adaptation to origin.
