I recently realized that all these search engine AI helpers really don't like the word nigger, so you can remove AI summary results from all of your searches simply by appending "-nigger" to the query.
This is not good advice if you are actually looking for results containing the word nigger, such as this post.
I was looking up info about the negro leagues from back in the day a few years ago and Gemini had an issue at first
I may never be able to find a can of black beans for sale again.
Didn't work, got lectured by AI instead :(
Which engine? I've never gotten anything but an outright removal of the entire AI section at the top of the results for doing this.
I tried it on Google and Brave.
Using the search "linux mint 22.1 vs 22.3", in a private/incognito window;
On Google I get the AI overview up top, videos under that, and zero site results viewable without scrolling. Adding -nigger to the search and hitting enter removes the AI overview, leaves me the video results, and now I can see 'people also ask', just fucking great still no site results visible without scrolling. Why do you suck so much dick now, google?
On Brave I get the AI overview up top, two relevant site results on the mint forums, then videos. Adding -nigger up top changes nothing. I also tried -kike, -spic, -cracker, and -faggot, none of which did anything.
Interesting. Can't nuke the AI on Brave but actual relevant results are higher up. Guess I should consider swapping search engines again.
Edit: I thought Brave was just google with a skin on it, so had been ignoring it. Big mistake I guess.
That's a meme and it doesn't work.
I've personally used this on google, bing, and yandex. Where have you tried that it didn't work?
Most of my uses are I enter a search, the top half of my screen is AI bullshit, then I angrily click the search field, add -nigger, and slam enter again.
To make it worse, the second half of the screen is ads!
uBlock does a good job dealing with that crap, hope somebody makes an extension of the same quality level for purging AI crap. That'd be nice.
