You cannot convince me that the father of the 12 year old rapist is any less responsible for his child’s crime than the dad in the school shooting case. In fact the 12 year old’s parents are worse. They’re actively defending their child’s actions after the fact.
I think that's the idea. Get a trend established that parents will be facing criminal accountability for the actions of their child, and work towards doing that nationwide.

Putting aside the issue of holding a separate person criminally liable for the actions of another, and instead focusing on race, have you considered the possibility that maybe the authorities have given up trying to help non whites have better outcomes in life? By not holding them to account, they are unlikely to ever change and improve, and will continue to be recidivists. Whereas other white families might actually see what happens, put down their devices, take the devices out of their childs hands, and actually parent them for the first time and eventually result in that kid not being a dumbass on their way to prison.
