We've had this debate before. There was no real cohesive "Europe" before European Christianity, what we would now call Christian Identity. The various tribes weren't "White" they were Germanic, Slavic, Celtic etc. with their own traditions of following Odin/Wotan/Woden, Perun, Lugh, or some other pantheon of ancestral deities. Usually with a primogenitor now identified with "God the Father" while the others are considered saints, depending on tradition.

At no point in time has Christianity ever changed anything about that. Actually you could argue it made it worse with the persecution of pagans, heretics and all the inter-religious wars between Catholics and Protestants. This stupid religious divide was still a big thing even just 50 years ago.
The cultural differences between European nations are vast to this day. Even within a nation there are great regional differences. If you go back a century those differences are many times greater. And those differences are very important and should be valued highly. Because they are what makes Europe great.
