I think partially it's asymmetrical bias. They were raised to not see color. They were raised in a high functioning, high trust society. Therefore they think everyone shares and or wants the same values, morals etc..

Like it boils down to whites thinking "wow I wouldn't wish death on someone so that means no one really wants to wish death on me".

Despite 20+ years of full court press media conditioning the world to hate white people.
