After an abortive attempt to make an account on this iteration of the community I was told "border control" was the reason why I couldn't get verified and I have no idea what that means and chose to observe rather than contest it, if that's even possible. I've been watching for I don't know how long.
Yeah I have a bad habit of tone-matching, which (too often) means that you didn't mean anything by it, but I got Triggered! by perceived disrespect, and escalated. You'd think decades of mostly watching people disagree online would slow my roll, but unfortunately there's the human factor.
I don't think that ICE has taken an important reputational hit. Those who were going to hate, still do. Normies get spooky noises in their peripheral vision, and maybe have a bad bowel movement, then all is forgotten. Under the current information conditions, people have already chosen who they listen to. "Summary execution" is for leftists and The View aficionados (and this Antonio faggot). Middling sheep people fear loud noises. Those in the know, like most here, know what's what, and optics isn't really on the table for them except as an esoteric, strategic idea.
That's why I find it important in places like here to hold the line. It's important to maintain a coherent, shared vision of what all of this means. That's far more important than all this squinting at barbarism and trying to decide who's more wrong, and what that's going to do to upset the digestion of the ignorant and the retarded.
This doesn't necessitate the administration or the agenda moving forward successfully at all. I think they're spinning plates best they can on the deck of the Titanic. What's going on now is not the repair of a damaged Empire, or the refreshing of a Republic. This is a shared geography being divvied up, and folk deciding by opinion where future political borders are going to lie.
What's on the line is Will. One of the biggest determinants of future America is going to be a split between those who still believe in things like dignity, resolve, Will, Justice, responsibility, and all that. That's what's on the line now, and what needs to be agreed-upon. We're all choosing what metaphysical Kingdom we are citizens of. Weakness, waffling, inappropriate softness, is going to pull people into indecision, anxiety, and confusion.
All of this political motion is likely going to fail--in it's overt objectives, anyway. What's important is if it does, to at least go down swinging. Hand-wringing as a popular option is going to leave a lot of people who could've been Good, out in the cold, when the new lines are drawn.
