You don't always see the barrel flash. I'm not saying it's definitive, but it's certainly possible. It matches up with timing...but so does the other guy, that I think you mentioned.
That's the tricky thing with this; once you start looking, you can connect all sorts of dots. Whether or not they actually connect.
But it's definitely possible that the gun goes off. And the slide certainly seems to be back. But it is bad quality, and all sorts of things could be happening.

Catching a muzzle flash on camera is very iffy without an extremely high fps camera.

the video was probably recorded in 30fps, the flash could have come and gone before the next frame was taken.
Why, exactly, do you think you would see a barrel flash? That's literally not supposed to happen on most correctly powered guns.
