It's pretty much the same the last time you and I spoke about these happenings: Everything that led to this is sad, but recognizing it as such can only go so far, not to let that feeling get in the way of accepting hard truths, reality, causality, and what to do about it.
Wishing that they just wouldn't, is nice, but not a reasonable outcome to expect. If they were capable of the kind of reflection and self-awareness you wished they'd employ, they wouldn't be where they are, doing what they're doing right now.
I am guilty of being very naive and wanting to see the world with rose colored glasses. These people know that the media is on their side so they probably are glad this happened so they can use it in their “fight against Nazis”
I don't know, I've lost track of who's who in that mess and who knows what and who understands anything real at all on that side of the fence. Maybe AlfricEnglishGuy can tell you what's happening on facebook with these people.
Way I see it, most of these folks are lost in a meta-reality. Their "news," their entertainment, their celebrity-worship culture, their peers, their drugs, their vices, their sex friends, their tiktoks and reddits, certainly their schools and for most their families, all successfully set the game area, and assign them a player role.
Then it seems like they just get nudged. Enough to make them do what someone (whoever that is) wants them to do, go where Entity X needs them to go. Might as well be being dungeon mastered. And if you could get one of these creatures to respond intelligently, they'd probably tell you that it's all some kind of game. Look at those laughing faces right before they go down. As insane as that is, they're having a good time, literally seconds before the reality of the horrifying situation they've created ends in the way it must for them.
