People purposely throw a basball 90 mphs at a guy's head. They slide with the spiked shoes up. Until the rule change they would plow into catchers.

There are plenty of ways baseball players hurt each other.

It's not the goal to hurt other players. It is an innately violent sport, true but pretending its only empty brutality is an overstatement
