What if the USA negotiates with the EU such that when the USA takes over Canada, every Canadian is given 1-month to declare either EU Citizenship or American citizenship. If a Canadian fails to declare, they're automatically made an EU citizen. The actual EU country they are citizens of would be up to how the EU wants to go about it.
This way all Canadians that don't want to be a part of the USA has the opportunity to move to the EU. I think this is a great strategy from the American perspective because in theory, it would likely rid Canada of the worst Canadians who'd take the EU citizenship. In this way, the USA only keeps the good Canadians so by bringing in Canada as a state, it isn't necessarily some mega liberal retarded state like California. This also might be a great way to sell the conquest to Canadians who may be quite happy with getting EU citizenship instead.
This seems like a win-win for everyone.
The government doesn't have to buy out anyone's house. They can put it for sale and maintain ownership of it as a foreigner.
Why would the government give anyone a generous allowance to move? The idea is that the lesser Canadians will be so scared of 'merica that the EU citizenship will be more than enough allowance for them to leave.
I don't like the idea of redrawing states. The states themselves can choose to combine if they want to.
If you're going to try to force people to become citizens of another nation? Either give them an "out" or prepare for serious backlash. Get the angry ones out of the country first, then join.
Simply adding more & more politicians to DC isn't really an option. Canada would be more than 1 State too, obviously.
I'm saying it's an opportunity to address these silly "hold over" issues. The States will no doubt hate the idea! Lose their precious graft machines? But someone has to fix things eventually.
East Washington and East Oregon are already petitioning to leave those states & join Idaho. They have nothing in common with the lunatics on the left coast, eh?
