She asked me if it were possible to own a building without owning the land that the building was on and I explained how it is and that's how many properties on Indian land are setup. "You read Trump's books?" I told her I did because I like to stay informed about things and it was actually a pretty good book that was written well before his political days that mostly focused on the real estate side. I told her I read Mark Carney's book also. "Who's that?" She replied. "You don't know who the Prime Minister of Canada is?" "I guess not because I don't know who that is" she replied.
And Canadians like to pretend they're more informed than Americans.

Explaining something is not the same as 'defending' it. You may prefer to remain baffled by how Carney got elected until the day you die from diabetes, but people who actually want to prevent it from happening again need to know how this happened.
Meh, I don't think even moroms are justified, but they had a reason for doing what they did. People rally around the flag when they're threatened. And Carney appeared to people to be better able to take on Trump's insanity + the conservative guy had splash damage from Trump as a populist when he went completely off the rails.
Trump didn't threaten Canada. Trump proposed a way to help Canadians.
Canada would objectively be superior if it were an American state and quality Canadians (the only Canadians who matter) would all have their lives improved.
