The Nemesis collective, named after the Greek goddess of revenge, was created in October 2019 in response to the wave of sexual assaults perpetrated during the New Year 2016 in Cologne and Hamburg mainly, and attributed to groups of foreign nationals against German women. The collective refers to itself as a feminist whistleblower, but in opposition to other feminist movements conveying, according to Nemesis, a “leftist ideology at the expense of women.” It is considered by many to be a far-right identity action group.
