Someone who says that people who try to kill themselves should "be shot in the head" is likely saying such with the understanding that such an action in the vast majority of cases is a deterrent and wanted to use it as one in this case but simply failed to realize it would just be giving the people what they want, therefor to achieve what I assume was the intended goal I suggested a modified alternative

I don't particularly care one way or the other. just that my correction was closer to what I assumed was the intent.
The way you wrote it didn't sound like a correction, it sounded like an endorsement.
