FWIW, Trump is now saying "WE WON! They stopped the killing, they won't execute anyone" (paraphrase). I still suspect that it's an attempt to lower their defenses like last time, and the Iranian regime may actually be dumb enough to fall for it.

Agreed. It's in line with his previous preposterous statements that maybe the demonstrators who were killed had been trampled. Almost as if he's trying to get out under his pledge.
