It's AD, not CE. CE is globohomo commie newspeak. Anytime you hear someone using the term CE instead of AD you can just tune out because you know that person's mind has been poisoned by communism. Mark my words, they will one day change the calenders, they will change the dates, the numerical years we go by. They will erase our history.
Using CE instead of AD is just the foothold. It's called the long march through the institutions and they will take their time, a hundred years if (((they))) have to. Easiest way to blow up the globohomo poisoned commie mind is to simply ask, "What day or event starts the CE?"
Always remember to use AD, not CE.
Edit: Wikipedia: "The term "Common Era" can be found in English as early as 1708,[5] and became more widely used in the mid-19th century by Jewish religious scholars."
The funny thing, the absolutely hilarious thing that the small minds entirely filled with their god can't grasp, is that we kept the numbering the same in CE/BCE out of laziness, and not out of some implicit rightness to your calendar.
It was seen as having been too much unneccessary work to rewrite all the dates in all the reference literature, since we had a good example from Japan with their whole Showa/Reiwa/etc era conversions to whatever CE period being an absolute pain in the ass.
But go on believing it's because everyone secretly loves keeping time by jesus.
I think you misinterpreted my post, but yes of course the reason AD/BC persisted (and pretty much still does since CE/BCE is just a reskin) is because of convenience. Even so, another demonstration of Christianity setting standards for white civilization.
Why was it adopted by everyone in the first place?
Chance. The christian cult happened to win the duel of delusions and become the dominant cult.
If the mudslimes had won instead and we had before mudhammad / after mudhammad, you'd be asking why anyone should care about BC/AD.
You're confusing familiarity for objectivity.
And let's all forget the stupid decimal calendar the French proto-commies tried to push, with a new year one set to the founding of their failure of a first republic. Luckily, based Napoleon got rid of it.
