I hope I'm wrong (and might very well be), but it feels like this shit is getting more and more inevitable.
If not today, likely within the month.
I didn't vote for this. I actually voted against this.

In a way the MAGA influencers are correct that the speed and apparent ease of the operation are pretty good selling points to people. The country isn't geared up for a beachhead on Venezuela with a few battalions of Marines, but they'll rah rah for Delta Force doing some kind of movie script mission.
Iran is being sold the same way. According to Ben Shapiro it'll just be "a few precise airstrikes" and if the government decides to fight back then that'll open the door for "more airstrikes." They are explicitly emphasizing that there will be no nation-building commitment, so roughly speaking we are around the Kosovo level of intervention.
It remains to be seen, however, if that will be enough to destabilize the Iranian regime. They have proved quite resilient.
That's one of the reasons this new MAGA variant of neocon warhawking is pissing me off so much. They're apparently fine with doing exactly the same things we've been doing for decades, the things they claim to be against (neocons, warhawking, regime change, needless wars, enriching globalists and military industrial complex), the things they claimed to like about Trump's campaign promises (LOL), but so long as it's concentrated and doesn't last long, they're fine with it. Bunch of spineless hypocrites.
If they actually held to their morals and virtues, it wouldn't matter how long or short an evil things lasts, because they'd be against it regardless.
