There’s a small but slowly growing number of right wingers who are even beginning to turn on the constitution, because it’s clearly not working anymore due to this shift in attitude.
That's the most troubling part of this. Kind of reminds me of the Section 230 debate when some right wingers started to clamor for the protection to be repealed so Twitter could be sued for the behavior of left wingers. In the end, that would have gone nowhere because leftist judges would have thrown out anything significant, and the government would be happy to effectively destroy discussion on the Internet.
The problem is the people, not the document.
The government wants people to get so mad that they turn against the Constitution. They'd be happy to shred the First Amendment.
