Enterprise wasn't a reboot. It was a prequel which they successfully and canonically tied in to both TOS and TNG.
Enterprise had good ratings in their fourth season. It was cancelled because the network they were on had a change in management during their fourth season and the new CEO had a seething hatred for sci-fi so the first thing he did was cancel Enterprise despite it's good ratings.
Third season was amazing. Fourth was unique in that it had 3-4 episodes of one continuous plot. It was very good, so long as you ignored the last episode.
Overall, Enterprise was good. I consider it the end of Star Trek. Anything after is garbage.
I love Enterprise. Season 3 is definitely the best. I don't get why people seem to hate seasons 1 and 2 so much. I think they are good.
A lot of people say season 4 is the best. I don't necessarily agree. I think they spent too much time in season 4 trying to connect it to the TOS. Bringing in Brent Spiner for an augment arc, explaining why the Klingons look the way they do in TOS, using their mirror episodes to explain what happened to the Defiant from TOS. I think the only wholly original stories that season had were the Vulcan arc, Romulan arc, and Terra Prime two parter.
Voyager's ending was where they tried to scuttle classic Trek and reboot with Enterprise.
By the fourth season they realized this was a mistake. They never recovered.
