That could be an artistic preference. My understanding is the two skills I mentioned above were taken as a given just 100 short years ago. Add in the ," Zero Tolerance Policy" in schools. Let's not forget a side of covid kids who don't have basic social skills because of masking. ( remember those kids terrified of people without masks?)
Seems rather designed. The killbox comes to mind.
