Most things are worth preserving as long as they are properly contextualized. The exceptions being those that are an active threat and those which are too costly to maintain. India is a shithole but that itself makes it worthy of documentation. Think of the wealth of knowledge that it could provide to writers of many high concept genres.
As much as I hate them I have to admit that Indians are one of the most fascinating peoples I've heard of, if not for seeing how they live and act I would never have thought it possible for such a group to survive.
