Sounds like a good idea. Kids getting private DMs on facebook always led to abuse by the Nigerian sextortion community pretending to be justin bieber or whoever
I have also always given my kids my old cell phones. I consider it recycling. Even though I'm ad blocked to hell, one of my kids likes ads ( idk what's wrong with him), I can tell the algos haven't figured out multiple people use that account because it shows things all three of us may be interested in.
I find it pretty funny to walk up to my son scrolling past dress ads though.
