I think her boobs are still smaller than the original but they are firmly there this time. Not holding my breath until it’s released. Story could be all “respect my culture” shit again.
I wonder if polys played at least some role in larger boob sizes in the earlier 3D days.
IE, If you need to keep your polycount ridiculously low but you want to make them at least reasonably visible, then it might be easier to just make them a little larger (since it's mainly detail that leads to a higher polycount, not actual dimensional size).
I might be totally wrong though.
Back on the day of lesser graphics, maybe. But with old school advertising for the series focusing on Laura having Capitol J Jugs, her boobs became meme tier and thus needed or it isn't 'authentic.'
Oh yeah, I only would've applied that thought to 3D from the late 90's. Anything past then is fair game, the poly hit isn't going to be substantial enough to be a serious problem unless someone has a legendary level of incompetence.
As for modern Lara, there's at least a bare minimum of expectation on that size chart since the standard was already set and utilized in future titles well into the early 2000's.
