Ok. Now I see the mix up. My cousin didn’t say that. I was referring to people who seem to think it’s so important to see a black character in everything they watch. Just based on interviews. Hyperbole on my part. Perhaps not survive but certainly they place lots of importance on it
Okay, so then my original comment stands: "Nobody is feeling like they can't survive, so we don't need to worry about that."
Hyperbole is what gets people so divided. Everyone here seems to think that "Women all have to be ugly" or "people say they can't survive without seeing a black person on TV" which isn't true.
Yes, people have different values on what they find important. You don't care about race. Others like it when a main character is black. This doesn't mean they can't survive if there isn't a black character.
On this community, it seems, people are actually getting real fucking wound up if there are too many black characters or a woman's boobs aren't big enough.
And go to a black community that is the equivalent or a YouTube page where they say similar things but the opposite. Black people can be as racist and hateful as whites. I still think placing that much importance on seeing a black character is absurd in this day and age but to each their own. When I first joined here it was more fun nerd talk but I try to post about nerd stuff more or general fun questions like Christmas movies.
Your cousin said they couldn't survive without seeing a black person on tv? Those were their words? Or were they "basically" saying that?

I could! But I'm here. Do I have to go to a different community and make comments before I can make comments here?
